New Yorkbased Peter Halley born 1953 is a prominent figure in contemporary art. A protagonist of the dynamic New York art scene of the 1980s and founder of the seminal Index magazine he gained recognition as one of the main champions of the neogeo movement with his geometric paintings rendered in intense fluorescent DayGlo acrylic paint and RollaTex texture additive. Since the mid1990s his sitespecific installations and permanent public works have extended his practice to a larger scale.
